Rio de Janeiro is a city that has tremendous history, and when you visit the Parque de Catete, you step back in time. Located in the park is the former President’s palace, where a number of presidents lived and governed Brazil. My favorite part of the palace was the building itself, and the way it was designed. Chandeliers, 19th century art, marble topped furniture was everywhere. The park itself is delightfully landscaped, and is a great place for an anfternoon stroll. I would happily go back and visit.

That’s right! We had a couple of history before the rain with this RioLIVE! We are using this expression because our students visited Palácio do Catete and loved the museum inside it since it used to be the Presidents’ Official Residence. They also visited the park and the gardens in the area and were stunned with so much beauty. The rain in the end didn’t spoil our trip because everyone took a cup of history before the rain…
