A night of good reunions!

Party night in Lapa - RJ

One of my favorite things about the end of the week is that another Friday night at Lapa is waiting for you. I love Lapa Fridays so much that I used to plan my flights to Rio around them. On this night, I met up with everyone from Rio & Learn after they had already spent a few hours at a bar listening to live music. But the night was still young. Just as Lady Gaga said, “No sleep—bus, club, another club, another club,” I went to one more bar and three clubs before the sun came up. There is no shortage of options, and when I finally left to go home in the early hours of the morning, the bars and streets were still packed with people. Sometimes people will come with instruments and set up an impromptu roda de samba underneath the arcs. Walking along Avenida Mem de Sá, there are dozens of stands with people selling caipirinhas and a variety of food options. But the most responsible thing you can do is buy a few gigantic bottles of water and chug them before you go to sleep so that when you wake up, you’re ready to take on another beautiful day in Rio de Janeiro.

Good clubs on Lapa - RJ

A night in Lapa is always good to enjoy. But a night with good reunions is even better. It happened with our last RioLIVE! since we had some students who weren’t coming to our activities and also former students who joined us in this amazing evening. Samba, funk, electronic music, everything that a democratic party place like Lapa can offer. All of this with good drinks, dance and Portuguese practice! A night of good reunions!
