We drove to the Parque da Catacumba , a lovely and quiet park in the middle of Rio and on the east side of the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. The sun was shining, the weather was really hot. We enjoyed the shade of the wooded hillside on our way up to the observation platform. The view from there was fantastic, taking in most of the lagoon, the Ilha Calcares and the canal running to the sea between the Ipanema and Leblond beaches.
Back on ground level we rented bicycles and had a relaxing ride around the lagoon, about six kilometres. I recommend this excursion to all students.

What amazing afternoon at Lagoa to enjoy the sun visiting Parque da Catacumba, a historical place in the middle of the city and then bike around Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, the heart of the South Zone. And it’s the heart in fact: the lagoon has a shape of a heart itself.
Join us for the next afternoon at Lagoa with the experience of speak some Portuguese. (=
