Generalmente, cuando uno nada en las playas de Rio de Janeiro, se ve la cima de Pan de Azúcar a lo lejos; sin embargo, en Urca se puede entrar al mar justo debajo de él, en la agradable Playa Roja. Después de estar un rato allí, se puede bordear a Pan de Azúcar caminando por los edificios universitarios y las casas de arquitectura clásica del barrio de Urca. Al llegar al costado norte de Pan de Azúcar, el camino ofrece una vista espectacular de la marina de Botafogo y la playa de Flamengo. Al final del sendero se llega a Bar da Urca, donde el tomar una cerveza con el sol poniéndose detrás del Cristo Redentor ofrece uno de los atardeceres más acogedores en esta ciudad.

Yesterday we enjoyed the beautiful landscapes at Urca. The neighborhood is considered one of the most beautiful in the city of Rio de Janeiro. What impressed the students the most was the tranquility of the place.
We walked by the streets of Urca and spoke Portuguese. We went to Praia Vermelha and Praia da Urca. From the neighborhood it’s possible to see the Guanabara Bay, Cristo Redentor, Pão de Açúcar and the city of Niterói. And to come to great end nothing better than having a beer at the Urca wall.
