After a few days of rain here in Rio de Janeiro, we were blessed with a beautiful day which we took full advantage of by visiting Jardim Botanical. It was such a pleasure getting lost amongst the the flowers and trees. We managed to visit many of the main attractions, however you could truly spend a full day here. It was great to learn the names of the plants and flowers in Portuguese and also practice our navigation skills in Portuguese. A great afternoon with a great group!

It was an absolutely stunning sunny afternoon spent exploring the botanical garden. Equipped with mosquito repellent to fend off those pesky bugs, we embarked on our journey through the lush greenery. Thankfully, one of our students had a knack for navigating maps, and helped leading us to all the must-see spots. We made a pit stop at the fountain, tossing in coins and making wishes, fingers crossed for some good luck. As we strolled, we engaged in lively conversation in Portuguese, soaking in the atmosphere and culture. We stayed until the garden closed its gates, unwilling to tear ourselves away from the beauty that surrounded us. And just before we left, we were treated to a breathtaking sight: the sun setting, casting a golden glow through the trees.
