Caipirinha and fun at Lapa

Caipirinha and fun at Lapa.

Caipirinha and fun at Lapa.

Last friday our RioLIVE! was done at the cradle of the carioca bohemia. Located at the center of Rio de Janeiro, Lapa has a big variety of bars, restaurants and it is a great place to meet friends and spend a lively night.

We started our RioLIVE! at Selarón Stairway, a pretty construction made by the artist Jorge Selarón that refurnished the stairway that connects Lapa to Santa Teresa. A great and funny activity for the students was to find decorations of their countries. Formed by many colorful tiles, it is a great piece of urban art.

After the stairway, we walked until the Arcs that is well known as Arcos da Lapa. Considered the biggest construction at the colonial period, today it is one of the city’s landmarks.

After having dinner and chatting (in Portuguese), we had a nice caipirinha class. The teacher, “Lemon King” taught our Portuguese students the techniques to prepare delicious caipirinhas. It was a very funny night.

If you are looking learning Portuguese and having fun at the same time, Rio & Learn is your place taking part in our RioLIVE! Activities.
