What do you do on a rainy Friday night? Well, in Rio, Lapa is one of the many options Carioca nightlife has to offer. We started our night RioLIVE! Activity in Lapa on the Cinelandia Square where we could see the beautiful buildings of Municipal Theater, National Library and Municipal Chamber. Then we had something to eat at Bar Sarau and tasted delicious caipirinhas and other drinks while listening to live MPB (Popular Brazilian Music). Next we went to Casa da Cachaça, where we were joined by other students and friends. We tried different flavours of cachaça among the hundreds the place serves. The students enjoyed the strong flavour of ginger cachaça and the tingling effect of the jambu one. At the end, we went to the traditional Bar Vaca Atolada where we sang along and danced to exciting live samba. Clearly the rain did not prevent us from having a great time with Carioca nightlife in Lapa.
