Celebration of Brazilian culture

Tasting Brazilian cachaça

The activity at the São Cristóvão Fair was wonderful! Being able to get to know a bit of Northeastern culture by tasting typical food, dancing and also drinking traditional cachaça is a good way to enjoy a Friday night. It was even better singing karaoke and interacting with my schoolmates.

Feira de São Cristóvão is a vibrant celebration of Brazilian culture nestled in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. As you enter, the aroma of traditional Northeastern cuisine fills the air, tempting you with dishes like feijoada, tapioca, and carne de sol. The rhythm of forró and xote beckons you to the dance floor, where couples swirl and sway to the infectious beat of accordion and zabumba drums. Amidst the lively atmosphere, karaoke enthusiasts take the stage, belting out classic Brazilian hits with gusto, adding their own flair to the festivities. Feira de São Cristóvão is not just a market but a lively carnival of flavors, music, and community spirit, where every visitor becomes part of the rich tapestry of Brazilian folklore and joy.
