After a steep climb up natural and wooden steps though an attractive wooden landscape with occasional mirantes offering fascinating views over the city below, we reached the summit. From the summit of the Morro da Urca to that of the Morro do Pão de Açúcar the Bondinho only takes a few minutes and here again the views are quite breathtaking.

Our group of students visited the famous Sugarloaf Mountain, one of Rio de Janeiro’s most iconic landmarks. Instead of taking the traditional cable car from the start, we decided to begin our journey on the trail that leads to Morro da Urca, the first stop before the top.The trail offered a great opportunity for relaxed conversations. Between laughs and photos, we practiced our Portuguese even more, describing the views and sharing personal stories about other outdoor adventures.
