Yesterday we went to Marquinhos Copacabana in Copacabana to learn how to Samba like true Brazilians! I have to admit I am not much of a dancer, but I figured that it would be a good way to learn about Brazilian culture and have fun with my fellow students outside of the classroom. Our dance teacher taught us some basic steps, and in no time we were working up a sweat! I also picked up some new vocabulary words (body parts, directions, etc.), an added bonus for an excellent afternoon!

Yesterday we enjoyed samba classes as we were practicing Portuguese and getting together. Our students from United States, Sweden, Italy and the UK did show de bola!! Our student Spencer was suprised by how much he learned in just one day, before classe he was kind of worried. All of them learned new words as they were enjoying class. Now everyone is ready to go to dance samba this weekend 🙂
