Exploring Vista Chinesa
Yesterday, the RioLIVE! activity was to hike to Vista Chinesa. It was a cloudy, cool day which made the hike more pleasant. We took the bus to Jardim Botanico and hiked to Vista Chinesa. The walk was intense at times, however it was nice to get some exercise. The view was beautiful when we finally arrived. The clouds parted and we were able to see the Lagoa and the Christo Redentor statue. After taking some photos, we descended back down the mountain. The activity was a good workout both physically and for Portuguese.
Yesterday, we had an afternoon of a lot climatic variation. We met at Rio & Learn with the goal to explore Parque Nacional da Tijuca and consequently get at Vista Chinesa, a very beautiful place that gathers an amazing view and many touristic points of Rio de Janeiro, such as Cristo Redentor, Pão de Açúcar, the beaches of Ipanema and Leblon and Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. But as the climate was changing we had also some clouds, it started with some sun and later the we had more clouds, all of this made our RioLIVE! even more interesting.
We started our RioLIVE! doing a nice walk around the park and the way wasn’t so long, but, very steep. In this way, the students had the opportunity to know each other better and talk in Potuguese. Besides that, the students loved the contact with nature, because the park preverses the original nature of the place.
