Gestern habe ich an meiner ersten Rio&Live Aktivität teilgenommen – Forro! Für alle, die noch nie von Forro gehört haben (sowie ich vorher), Forro ist einer von vielen typisch brasilianischen Tänzen. Es gibt also nicht nur Samba! Um 14.30 Uhr ging es los. Erst lernten wir die Schritte einzeln – links, recht, nach hinten, nach vorne – eigentlich alles ganz einfach. Zu zweit war es dann auf einmal doch ganz schön verwirrend! Eine Stunde haben wir uns zu brasilianischer Musik gedreht (und uns auf die Füße getreten!). Auch wenn wir jetzt nicht gerade Forro-Profis sind, war es toll etwas typisch brasilianisches zu lernen, und es hat auf jeden Fall jede Menge Spaß gemacht!

Forró with Portuguese. That was our RioLIVE! at this time, our Portuguese students from England, Spain, Germany, United States and Philippines had the chance to enjoy a lively and funny forró class, nothing better than combining forró with Portuguese. Forró is a very traditional Brazilian rhythm and very popular at the northeast of the country, the specific detail is that you can only dance it in pairs.
Our Portuguese students started the class with very simple and basic steps and with time passing they were learning more and more steps, the funny part is that teacher Diogo also helped a little bit making a pair to dance. Also the instructor was very patient and calm explaining all the steps, in Portuguese of course. After some minutes, everybody was dancing and showing their forró skills, a little shy in the begnning but getting loose afterwards.
In the end our students were very happy with one more dancing experience with Rio & Learn and they are ready to hit the floor dancing forró with Portuguese. Come you too to Rio & Learn and take part in our RioLIVE! Activities.
