I had a great time with the other students going to the Flamengo game at Macaranã. The passion of the fans here is like nothing I have ever seen plus Like all RioLive activities, I had the opportunity to practice the language. If you have the the chance to go to a game with Rio & Learn, I highly recommend it.

From the Stands of Maracanã: Sunday’s match took place on an exceedingly hot day. The roaring crowd left us thoroughly impressed. Wearing Flamengo team shirts, all except for one of our students, who happened to be an infiltrated Botafogo supporter (a rival Carioca team). Despite this, even he couldn’t resist cheering a little when Flamengo scored. In the end, Flamengo won the game 2-1 against Cuiabá (a team from Mato Grosso), but some of us think that it should have been 2-0… Despite that, it was so much fun to witness Flamengo’s victory in the biggest stadium in Latin America.
