Fun at Dois Irmãos
Dois Irmãos is one of the best day hikes in Rio, and definitely one of the most interesting. I don´t know if I would have ventured out there if it weren´t for the group outings from Rio and Learn! The entire way up you get to experience things and places that are unique to city and the geography. On a clear day, you can see across the bay to Niteroi and beyond. It doubles as an awesome way to practice speaking Portuguese when you travel with the group. If you like Marmosets, you might get the opportunity to get up close and personal with them too. They are adorable.

On our last RioLIVE! we had a lot of fun at Dois Irmãos. We started our hiking with great excitement, because we didn’t know that the view that was expecting us at the top of the Morro was so magnificent. Students took the moment to talk about the weather and vegetation in Rio de Janeiro. At each stop the fun followed us with jokes about the time we would take to get to the top of Morro Dois Irmãos.
Arriving at the top we saw a landscape that was even more beautiful than what we imagined. What could have been a problem ended up as a solution, some clouds appeared, but that made our pictures even more interesting. It looked like we where in heaven. But all good things must come to an end and we had to go back down.
Before going home, we stopped at favela do Vidigal to have a delicious açaí. Students found it very interesting because it was totally different from the ones they have tried in Copacabana and Ipanema. It was an amazing afternoon.
Come to Rio & Learn and participate on our RioLIVE! activities. You’ll have fun and learn Portuguese at the same time.
