Hi there! Guess what today is? Today is World Happiness Day! It’s all about celebrating good vibes and the things that make us smile. And since we’re all about embracing joy, why not take the opportunity to learn some Portuguese? After all, sharing happiness is what we’re here for, and what better way to do that than by learning how to express those happy feelings in a new language?

Now, when you think of happiness, Brazil must be one of the first places that comes to mind, right? This place is all about sunny days, friendly faces and, of course, some of the most unforgettable parties on the planet. Carnival, anyone? It’s like the whole country comes together to show the world how to party in style – with lots of dancing, music and colour everywhere.

So how about bringing some of that Brazilian sunshine into our lives? Let’s start with a few Portuguese phrases that will help you spread the joy like a carioca. Ready to get started?

The word “happy” in Portuguese

If you want to express happiness in Portuguese, the magic word is ‘feliz’. It’s pronounced [feh-LEEZ], and just saying it out loud can make you feel a little happier.

“Feliz” is your go-to expression for all things happy. Whether you’re talking about your own feelings or sending good vibes to someone else, this word fits perfectly into so many sentences.

Here’s the basic way to use it:

Eu estou feliz” – “I am happy.”

It’s as straightforward as it gets, with “Eu estou” meaning “I am.”

En plus, du Lundi au Vendredi l'ecole propose des activitées qu'il appelle "Rio Live" ce qui permet de visiter en même temps Rio tout en parlant Portugais et de rencontrer des gens😃 Toute l'équipe est genial et est prêts à aider si besoin 😁

C'est vraiment fantastique...RioAndLearn. Les cours de portugais...ça vaut vraiment la peine. Les cours ont lieu du lundi au vendredi, (de 9h à 13h) et en après midi, ce sont des activités libres en groupe. (Soccer de plage, volleyball , excursions, visites des lieux touristiques, etc) Vendredi soir, on est allé à Lapa, un quartier nocturne de Rio. C'est quelque chose à voir! Des rues bondées de monde, des orchestres, des discothèques...Allô les décibels! L'apprentissage du portugais se fait en immersion, aussi bien en salle de classe que dans les activités extérieures organisées par Rio&Learn.
