To know the History of Rio is an excellent exercise for those who want to practice Portuguese. Through RioLIVE! our students were able to know the Historical Center of Rio de Janeiro. We started our Activity at Uruguaiana, a popular street market well known by Cariocas. Soon after that we walked by Avenida Presidente Vargas and talked about the current economy in Brazil. After visiting this places our RioLIVE! became cultural, because we went to CCBB and to Centro Cultural do Correios where we saw the expositions about Rio de Janeiro.
In the end, we arrived at Paço Imperial, one of the most historical buildings in Brazil. That is where “Dia do Fico” took place and also where the Áurea Law was signed. At that moment students asked many questions about the Independence Day in Brazil and learnt new vocabulary. It was an amazing afternoon with a lot of History of Rio.
Come join us at RioLIVE! activities!
