Tour Guide in Rio de Janeiro – Be our RioLIVE! Supervisor

Transform Portuguese learning into unforgettable adventures in Rio!

Copacabana – Rio de Janeiro

At Rio & Learn, we don’t just teach — we live Portuguese. Through our RioLIVE! activities, students explore Rio’s culture, language, and people in real time: from the beach to the museum, from samba steps to local markets.

We’re looking for a Tour Guide to be our RioLIVE! Supervisor — someone organized, lively, and passionate about sharing the real Rio with our students. If you’re the kind of person who turns any outing into a cultural journey, you’ll fit right in.

Responsibilities. What you’ll do: 💼

  • Plan and coordinate RioLIVE! activities that connect language, culture, and fun.
  • Act as a Tour Guide during RioLIVE! activities, leading students through Rio’s main spots and hidden gems.
  • Teach Portuguese following Rio & Learn’s methodology.
  • Engage students in Portuguese learning through our fun and interactive method — both during RioLIVE! activities and classroom sessions.
  • Guide and accompany students during activities, making sure everyone feels included and safe.
  • Train and coach other teachers to lead RioLIVE! activities independently, following Rio & Learn’s methodology.
  • Oversee the quality of RioLIVE! activities led by other teachers, ensuring consistency in methodology and student experience, even when you are not on site.
  • Manage logistics: locations, times, materials, and any small miracles needed to make things run smoothly.
  • Represent Rio & Learn with enthusiasm and professionalism — be the bridge between our students and the soul of Rio.
  • Track attendance, feedback, and results, helping us improve every week.

Qualifications & Skills. What we expect from you: 📌

  • Native Portuguese speaker (mandatory).
  • Advanced or fluent English, with confident oral communication — you’ll speak with international students daily.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Tourism, Communication, or related fields.
  • Valid Tourism license and driver’s license (B category) — both are required for this position, as you’ll lead tours and transport students during cultural activities.
  • Previous experience as a tour guide, group leader, or working with tourism and cultural activities is a strong plus.
  • Strong sense of organization and leadership, with energy to handle multiple tasks and groups.
  • Genuine passion for Brazilian culture and the city of Rio de Janeiro.
  • Positive attitude, creativity, and real commitment to students’ experience.
  • This role includes late-night and weekend activities (such as night tours or special events) as part of your regular schedule.
  • Comfortable using Google tools (Docs, Sheets, and Slides) for daily tasks.
  • 44-hour work week (full-time CLT position).
  • Energy, friendliness, and passion for teaching and welcoming people from all over the world.

⚠️ Note: Night and weekend activities are part of the fun and energy of this job! They complement your teaching — they don’t replace regular Portuguese lessons.

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive Salary: A monthly salary of R$ 3,000.
  • Goal-Based Bonus: You can earn R$0–R$1,000 per month based on achieving company-wide goals related to revenue.
  • CLT Package: Our team is 100% CLT, guaranteeing all benefits connected to the system.
  • Dental Insurance included: Because smiles are part of the job.
  • Employee of the Month award: Celebrate your achievements with us and earn 500 reais!
  • Work less than a minute from Copacabana beach: Enjoy a quick swim during your breaks!
  • Work in a multicultural environment surrounded by the beach and international energy.
  • Real growth opportunities in an innovative educational company.
