It’s time to check out a dialogue with those words and expressions! Listen to our native Portuguese teachers acting out the dialogue in the audio below!

Vendedor: Boa tarde! Posso ajudar?
Cliente: Oi, boa tarde! Eu queria ver umas blusas para mim.
Vendedor: Claro! Qual a cor e o tamanho?
Cliente: Você poderia me mostrar as pretas? Meu tamanho é M.
Vendedor: Sim, vou pegar.
Cliente: Obrigado!
Vendedor: Aqui estão.
Cliente: Ah! São lindas! Vou precisar de uma calça para combinar.
Vendedor: A senhora não gostaria de experimentar uma saia?
Cliente: Não. Acho que uma calça seria melhor. Você tem jeans?
Vendedor: Tenho sim, qual é o tamanho?
Cliente: Meu tamanho para calças é 38.
Vendedor: Um minutinho, por favor.
Cliente: Tudo bem!
Vendedor: Aqui está. Acho que essa vai ficar boa.
Cliente: Ótimo, onde fica o provador?
Vendedor: No final da loja à esquerda.

Pouco tempo depois…

Cliente: Eu vou levar!
Perfeito! As duas blusas mais a calça dão R$200,00 no total.
Nossa! Está muito caro. Não pode me dar um desconto?
Vendedor: Claro! Posso dar um desconto de 10% para pagamentos em dinheiro.
Cliente: Tudo bem!
Vendedor: Pode levar até o balcão e fazer o pagamento no caixa.
Cliente: Obrigado! Tenha uma ótima tarde!
Vendedor: A senhora também.

Translations of the Dialogue

Salesperson: Good afternoon! Can I help you?
Customer: Hello, good afternoon! I would like to see some blouses for me.
Salesperson: Of course! What color and size?
Customer: Could you show me black ones? I’m size M (medium).
Salesperson: Yes, I’ll get them.
Customer: Thank you!
Salesperson: Here you go.
Customer: Ah! They’re pretty! I will need some pants that match.
Salesperson: Mam, wouldn’t you like to try on a skirt?
Customer: No. I think a pants would be better. Do you have jeans?
Salesperson: Yes we do, what’s your size?
Customer: I’m a 38 for pants.
Salesperson: Just a minute, please.
Customer: Alright!
Salesperson: Here you go. I think these will fit you nicely.
Customer: Great, where’s the fitting room?
Salesperson: At the back of the store to the left.

A little bit later…

Customer: I will take them!
Salesperson: Perfect! The two blouses plus the pants come to a total of R$200.00.
Customer: Oh my! It’s really expensive. Can’t you give me a discount?
Salesperson: Of course! I can give a 10% discount for payments made in cash.
Customer: Okay!
Salesperson: You can take it to the counter and make the payment at the cashier.
Customer: Thank you! Have a great afternoon!
Salesperson: You too ma’am!

I’ve just started online classes with Prof. Ana Carolina & she is the absolute best! It’s my first time learning Portuguese and I was speaking full sentences in the first class. Obrigada!

Small classes, diverse accents, and engaging professors make Rio & Learn Online a fantastic choice! I've been thrilled with my experience at Rio & Learn Online so far. The small class sizes (around 1-3 others students) allow for personalized attention and plenty of opportunities to practice speaking. What's more, having different professors throughout the program exposes you to various accents, preparing you for real-world interactions. I opted for the full-time program, which involves 2 hours of daily learning from Monday to Friday. After just over 12 weeks, I can confidently say my Portuguese has improved dramatically. The professors are incredibly engaging and encourage students to utilize real-life examples, solidifying the learning process. While I'm only halfway through the program, I'm confident in recommending Rio & Learn Online to anyone seeking to learn Portuguese in a supportive and effective environment. I've gone from being a complete beginner (only knowing hi and bye) to holding conversations - and I'm excited to see how much further I can progress! I'll be back with another review after completing the program, but for now: Rio & Learn Online - highly recommended!

I've been taking the group online courses with Rio&Learn for 2 months. They offer a fantastic way to learn Portuguese and get speaking practice if you don't live in Brazil. The teachers are engaging and are able to adjust their level of Portuguese to whatever level you are at. Obrigado!
