Portuguese and History
Vcera po jazykovom kurze sme absolvovali vecernu turu Centrom mesta Rio de Janeiro s nasim ucitelom portugalciny Pablom. Stretli sme sa pred skolou a metrom sme isli do centra mesta. Pablo nas oboznamyl s historiou mesta, prezrli sme si katedralu Candelaria a potom sme sa zastavili v budove byvalej Banco do Brasil, ktora sa stala kulurnym centrom Ria a stareho mesta, tam sme si prezreli vystavu diel Miltona Machada pod nazvom Cabesa (Hlava). Pokracovali sme v Starom meste v jeho pozostatkoch, ktore sa stalo obetou modernej vystavby. V palaci guvernerov Paco Imperial sme si prezreli expoziciu vystavy ktora nas oboznamil s historiou Brazilie ako kolonie az do jej nezavislosti. Vecer sme zakoncili posedenim v jednej s mnohych restauracii v Cinelandii… Pablo velka vdaka za cas straveny s nami. Muito obrigado!

How about Portuguese and History at the same time?! Add lots of fun and a nice walk too. Rio de Janeiro is not only made of good landscapes. The city has a wonderful history too. That’s why our RioLIVE! at this time was at the historical Center of Rio. We left Copacabana and we went by subway until Uruguaiana station, where we walked until the Candelária’s Church. We talked about many different subjects about this catholic monument and after we went until CCBB (Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil). There, we enjoyed a very interesting exhibition.
Our next step, was at Centro Cultural dos Correios. We walked through the streets of the center until we get at the Paço Imperial (historical Rio’s heart). In this moment we talked about many historical facts, such as Dia do Fico, Lei Áurea and the Portuguese Royal Family’s Arrival, and other facts. We finished our day, just like typical cariocas. We had dinner and some drinks together in a bar located next to the Teatro Municipal.
What about you? Do you want to learn Portuguese, explore Rio de Janeiro and have fun? Join us in our RioLIVE! Activities.
