What’s up guys? Today we are going to exercise our Portuguese. Today’s Dica has Portuguese diminutive exercises for you guys, but let’s refresh our memories before we start.

There are different uses of diminutives in Portuguese. Diminutives can be used to say something about the size of an object, add emphasis, demonstate affection or contempt, and we can also use the diminutive without a specific function. Diminutives are usually formed by adding –inho, –inha, –zinho or –zinha, at the end of the words.

Do you remember it now? Well, let’s do some exercises with diminutives in Portuguese.

Portuguese Diminutive Exercises: Exercise 1

Let’s classify the diminutives in size, emphasis, affection, contempt, or without a specific function:

1) Eu tenho uma casinha em São Paulo. (_____________)
I have a small house in São Paulo.

2) Você tem um minutinho? (_____________)
Do you have a minute?

3) Ela é uma velhinha muito agradável. Gosto de falar com ela. (_____________)
She’s a very pleasant old lady. I like talking to her.

4) Ah! Que menininha irritante! (_____________)
Uh! What an annoying little girl!

5) Ela é minha amiguinha. (_____________)
She’s my friend.

6) Paizinho querido! Te amo! (_____________)
Dear Dad! I love you!

7) Nós moramos pertinho da Rio & Learn. (_____________)

C'est vraiment fantastique...RioAndLearn. Les cours de portugais...ça vaut vraiment la peine. Les cours ont lieu du lundi au vendredi, (de 9h à 13h) et en après midi, ce sont des activités libres en groupe. (Soccer de plage, volleyball , excursions, visites des lieux touristiques, etc) Vendredi soir, on est allé à Lapa, un quartier nocturne de Rio. C'est quelque chose à voir! Des rues bondées de monde, des orchestres, des discothèques...Allô les décibels! L'apprentissage du portugais se fait en immersion, aussi bien en salle de classe que dans les activités extérieures organisées par Rio&Learn.
