What’s up everyone? In our Dica today, we are going to exercise our knowledge of numbers in Portuguese. We have other Dicas about numbers, so if you need to, you can review some of them before completing the Portuguese numbers exercises below.

It’s important to remember that the numbers in Portuguese must agree with the words in Portuguese relating to gender. If the words that the numbers are relating to are masculine, the numbers have to be masculine, but if the words are feminine, then the numbers must be feminine as well.

So let’s do these exercises and show everybody we know this subject really well!

Exercises with Numbers in Portuguese

1) Complete the sentences below using the numbers in the box:

dois  /  mil oitocentos e oito  /  vinte e sete  /  duas  / uma / noventa e três

2) Rewrite the sentences, completing with the numbers in full. Follow the example below:

Nós temos 3 amigos que vivem em Barcelona.
Nós temos três amigos que vivem em Barcelona.

b) O livro custa R$ 24,90.

c) Josué tem 30 anos.

d) As crianças vão chegar às 8 horas da manhã.

Exercise with ordinal numbers in Portuguese

Ordinal numbers can be masculine or feminine, singular or plural. Okay, but how do you use them? Test your knowledge with this exercise!

  1. Exercise: Complete the sentences with the correct ordinal number in Portuguese.

2. Exercise: Complete the sentences using the correct ordinal number in Portuguese.

A. Na minha 10ª visita ao Brasil, decidi aprender português. – Na minha __________ visita ao Brasil, decidi aprender português.

B. O piloto terminou a corrida na 20ª posição. – O piloto terminou a corrida na __________ posição.

C. O 100º cliente da loja ganhará um prêmio especial. – O __________ cliente da loja ganhará um prêmio especial.

Ordinal numbers exercise:

First exercise: Primeiro, Segunda, Terceira, Quarto, Quinto.

Second exercise: Décima, Vigésima, Centésimo.

Big numbers exercise:

  1. Dois mil – This translates to “two thousand.”
  2. Cinquenta mil – This means “fifty thousand.”
  3. Cem mil – This is “one hundred thousand.”
  4. Um milhão – This translates to “one million.”
  5. Dez milhões – This means “ten million.”

C'est vraiment fantastique...RioAndLearn. Les cours de portugais...ça vaut vraiment la peine. Les cours ont lieu du lundi au vendredi, (de 9h à 13h) et en après midi, ce sont des activités libres en groupe. (Soccer de plage, volleyball , excursions, visites des lieux touristiques, etc) Vendredi soir, on est allé à Lapa, un quartier nocturne de Rio. C'est quelque chose à voir! Des rues bondées de monde, des orchestres, des discothèques...Allô les décibels! L'apprentissage du portugais se fait en immersion, aussi bien en salle de classe que dans les activités extérieures organisées par Rio&Learn.
