Looking for private Portuguese lessons that truly adapt to you? At Rio & Learn, our one-on-one Portuguese classes are designed to help you speak real Brazilian Portuguese with confidence — whether you’re learning online at home or taking in-person lessons in Brazil.
Our private Portuguese classes are fully personalized. You learn at your pace, with a native Brazilian teacher, clear goals, and lessons focused on real-life communication. Grammar is always present, but never in the way — it’s a tool to help you speak, not something that slows you down.
Choose online private Portuguese lessons, in-person classes in Rio de Janeiro or Recife, private business Portuguese courses, or private immersion programs for faster progress. Below, you’ll find all our private lesson options. Pick the format that fits your goals and start speaking Portuguese the way it’s really spoken in Brazil.
At Rio & Learn, private Portuguese lessons mean much more than just having a teacher all to yourself. Every one-on-one course starts with a clear understanding of who you are, why you’re learning Portuguese, and how you’ll actually use the language in real life — traveling, working, living in Brazil, or communicating with Brazilians abroad.
All our private Portuguese classes are taught by native Brazilian teachers with experience teaching foreigners. Your teacher builds a personalized learning plan based on your level, goals, and timeline, adjusting the pace and focus as you progress. Beginners gain confidence step by step, while more advanced students refine fluency, pronunciation, and natural expression.
Our methodology is communication-first. Grammar is always present, but it’s introduced at the right moment and applied immediately in conversation. Classes are structured, dynamic, and goal-oriented, with constant encouragement to speak. This balance between structure and spontaneity is what we call Livelearning and Funlearning — learning Portuguese by using it, not memorizing it.
You can take online private Portuguese lessons from anywhere in the world, join in-person classes in Rio de Janeiro or Recife, enroll in private business Portuguese courses, or accelerate your progress with a one-on-one immersion program like Rio & Immersion. No matter the format, the focus is the same: real Brazilian Portuguese, real interaction, and measurable progress.
With flexible scheduling, personalized feedback, and optional real-life practice through our activities, our private lessons are designed to fit your life — and help you speak Portuguese with confidence, clarity, and authenticity.
