In this RioLIVE! we attended the rehearsal for carnival at the samba school mangueira, one of the most traditional and awarded ones. As this year’s samba enredo lyrics says: Mangueira your scenery is poetry! This long awaited RioLIVE! Activity did justice to its reputation. The students were entertained by the different elements from the carnival parades that were present there such as the drumming band, the band’s rainha (queen) and princesa (princess), the mestre sala (room master) and porta bandeira (flag holder), the passistas (samba dancers) and much more. The power of samba was so strong that all of the more than 10 students there tried to dance the samba at least once. According to some students this was simply the best RioLIVE!

It is only fair to say: Mangueira your scenery is poetry!
