…Meine Leidenschaft für Samba und Bossa Nova haben mich vor einiger Zeit dazu motiviert Portugiesisch zu lernen und nach Rio zu kommen. Da kam es gerade richtig, dass wir diese Woche die Möglichkeit hatten den legendärsten Tanz Brasiliens in einer Privatstunde mit einem Tanzlehrer kennenzulernen. Es ist beeindruckend wie schnell man von einem Profi die Basics im Samba erlernt und sich damit gleich etwas souveräner ins Nachtleben von Rio stürzen kann. Der Sambakurs war nur eine der vielen abwechslungsreichen Aktivitäten die Rio&learn täglich unverbindlich anbietet. Zusammen mit dem Unterricht am Vormittag, haben es mir die Aktivitäten ermöglicht viel schneller als erwartet Portugiesisch zu lernen und vor allem viele neue Aspekte der brasilianischen Kultur kennenzulernen.

Samba, one of the most popular dances all around the world; an old dance you have to feel. But it goes further from an ancient way of life, it’s a way of expression and it is also a way to have fun! That’s what we did yesterday at Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. We left behind our bad feelings and shames; we just closed our eyes and felt the rythm of this marvelous music.
The fantastic group was formed by 7 Rio & Lean’s students from USA, New Zeland, Germany, South Korea, Austria and Colombia. It was interesting to see how RioLIVE! Activities and samba can gather people from different countries and cultures and mix them all in a magic moment.
Our students started with the samba basics step by step, but slowly the rythm entered in their veins until turn them into a group of professionals. In the end, the music was quite fast and they could enjoy all the steps learnt before.
Finally they ended the activity speaking Portuguese with the Samba teacher. It was another example of what Funlearning is!
