Sugar Loaf was our RIOLIVE! this time. Our Portuguese students had the opportunity to visit one of the most important and popular landmarks in Rio de Janeiro, the
Sugar Loaf. A high mountain that helps compose the amazing Carioca landscape.
Our students from Germany, Chile, Colombia, Italy and Austria were very excited and anxious in this RIOLIVE! Specially because of the cable car, kindly called
‘bondinho’ by the cariocas. On our way to the top, we did our first stop at
Morro da Urca, another very beautiful mountain where you can have a small taste of the views that were about to come. We could walk around the place, taking pictures and practicing our Portuguese, of course. Then, we finally got to the Sugar Loaf, an amazing place with the best views you can possibly imagine. From there you can see
Leme and
Copacabana beaches,
Praia Vermelha,
Niteroi and the center of Rio de Janeiro.
It was a great RIOLIVE! Our students were very happy and satisfied because they could visit Sugar Loaf and practice their Portuguese. After that, nothing better than some ice cream, açaí and caipirinhas to finish our RIOLIVE! on a great note and still practice Portuguese.
