Mit der historischen Straßenbahn fuhren wir in den wunderschoenen Stadtteil Santa Teresa. Dieser hat neben der besten Feijoada der Stadt zahlreiche kleine Kunstgeschaefte, bunte Straßen und eine fuer Rio de Janeiro ungewohnt ruhige Atmosphaere zu bieten. Vom Ruinen Park aus hat man einen fantastischen Blick ueber die Suedzone und das Stadtzentrum. Den (ent)spannenden Tag ließen wir am Ende (wie es sich in Rio gehört) mit Caipirinhas und Bier in Lapa ausklingen.

It was a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon and it was the perfect day to visit the most charming neighborhood in the city: Santa Teresa. Our RioLIVE! Santa Teresa activity started out with an exciting tram ride up the hills and Arcos da Lapa. The lunch meal for the day? Feijoada at Bar do Mineiro. It’s very common for people here to have Feijoada for lunch on Fridays. Then we strolled around the streets where you can still see vestiges of the old Rio. The iconic park called Parque das Ruínas is a place that offers a magnificent view of the bay at the end of the stairs. Our students enjoyed the clear day and the cool breeze of that sunny afternoon. Who can resist the charm of Santa Teresa? You can’t miss it next time we go there. Come with us and get to know the beauties of this picturesque neighborhood.
