Lapa night was great. Prior to going to Lapa, I got to practice with the students and the Rio & Learn teacher in Portuguese even on the way to the train station. Plus, the teacher was great at making us feeling comfortable and welcome. I tasted the famous caipirinhna, saw the Arcos da Lapa, enjoyed the traditional samba music played on Friday nights in Rio and also, saw the night life. I even danced to the samba and the other students as the singers sang. All while practicing Portuguese.
Nicole B. United States
We visited Lapa in our last RioLIVE! But allow us to say that it was the USL, The United States of Lapa, in fact. We can say that because there were only students from the USA. Everybody had a great time, we had some caipirinhas by the arches, enjoyed samba in a local and traditional bar and finished our activity having some cachaça shots by the streets of Lapa.
