Visiting Jardim Botânico
If youre feeling a little overwhelmed by the craziness of Rio, pop in to see the Jardim Botanico. Its a nice place to take in a breath of fresh air and relax a little. There you’ll find a quite, a few nice places to chill and reflect. Our little group walked around lazily by the small waterfalls and a lake taking in the green manicured grounds. We also enjoyed the lovely orchid garden. A very relaxed afternoon.

Jardim Botânico is one of the most visited places here in Rio de Janeiro. Located at the south zone of the city, Jardim Botânico was founded by king John VI of Portugal, the garden is a very good place to relax, take a walk and you can also watch the big diversity of plants inside the place, around 6.500 species of plants from all over the world.
Our students from, United States, Romania, Switzerland, Germany, Ghana, Colombia, Australia and Netherlands went to this place to see and feel how Jardim Botânico really is. They started the visitation with a long walk through the place, seeing the many different species of plants and also taking many pictures, specially of the flowers, they continued walking through the lake inside it, watching the little waterfalls and some wild animais that live there too.
They really enjoyed the experience and are happy to know one more good and beautiful place in Rio with Riolive!
