Í gær fór ég með fjórum nemendum og einum kennara að skoða næstvinsælasta ferðamannastað Rio de Janeiro á eftir Kristsstyttunni, sem er fjallið Pão de Açúcar. Við fórum upp með kláfi, fyrst upp á Urca fjall, sem er mun lægra en Pão de Açúcar og þaðan með öðrum kláfi upp á Pão de Açúcar. Útsýnið var tilkomumikið í allar áttir, yfir borgina, flóann og yfir til Niteroi sem stendur hinum megin við sundið. Við náðum því miður ekki upp á topp fyrir sólsetur vegna mikilla umferðartafa, en útsýnið var ljómandi gott þrátt fyrir myrkrið.

Yesterday, RioLIVE! went to one of the most famous touristc points of Rio de Janeiro, the Sugar Loaf. We met the very famous Sugar Loaf Ferry. The weather was cloudy, but it wasn’t a big deal. The strong wind scared us a little bit but the beautiful landscape cheered us up again. First we took the ferry and we went to Morro da Urca. After that, we went to the Sugar Loaf. The students were very happy with its beutiful view. From the top part it was possible to see Cristo Redentor, the Center of Rio, the airport and the Niterói and Copacabana’s beaches. When the nightfall came the landscape was even more beautiful, because the lights gave a special beauty to the city. The Sugar Loaf was crowded. Most of the people there were foreigners. Now, most of the people know why Rio de Janeiro is called “The Wonderful City”.
Ontem, a RioLIVE! foi em um dos pontos turísticos mais famosos do rio de Janeiro, o Pão de Açúcar. Conhecemos o tão famoso Bondinho do Pão de açúcar. O tempo estava nublado, mas isso não nos desanimou. O vento forte nos deu um pouco de medo, mas as belas paisagens logo nos entusiasmou. Primeiro pegamos o bondinho e fomos até o Morro da Urca. Em seguida, fomos para o Morro do Pão de Açúcar. Os alunos ficaram muito felizes com a bela vista que o local possui. Do alto do morro era possível ver o Cristo Redentor, o Centro do Rio, o aeroporto, a Praia de Copacabana e Niterói. Quando anoiteceu a paisagem ficou ainda mais bonita, pois as luzes acesas davam um toque de beleza à cidade. O Pão de Açúcar estava cheio. A maioria das pessoas eram estrangeiras. Agora, a maioria dessas pessoas entendem porque o Rio de Janeiro é chamado de “Cidade Maravilhosa”.
