The samba class today was a spirited and energetic introduction to this beautiful dance. Our instructor, Sarah, was both personable and extremely knowledgeable. I am now confident enough to dance a bit when I visit Lapa later this week.

Today we discovered we have the rythm of samba! Our students embarked on an vibrant Brazilian dance class, a style famous in our local carnivals. During the class, we learned how to balance and quickly picked up the form of fast-paced dancing under the guidance of a talented local professional. She showed us the steps, and we had a blast trying to copy them. I’m pretty sure that with some more practice, everyone will nail it eventually!
