World Cup in Rio de Janeiro
Have you ever thought about watching the quarterfinals of a football World Cup in Rio de Janeiro? What about watching it at the beach? And if the beach is Copacabana?
Last Friday we went with our Portuguese students to watch the match together at Copacabana Beach as we talked Portuguese and got together. We had students from Colombia, Mexico, US, Iceland, UK, Germany and Ghana! Three continents represented!
The match was dominated by the Brazilians that won 2 – 1, in a game that was easier that the one against Chile. Our Colombian student Sandra got disappointed with the Spanish referee that didn’t show a red card near the end of the match to the Brazilian goalkeeper Júlio César. Anyway Brazil won and is already in semifinals. Unfortunately for tomorrow’s game against Germany we are not going to have our Brazilian football star Neymar. Our German students Jasmine and Johannes are very excited with the chance to pass to the final. Let’s see what happens and who will be on the Sunday’s final game!
