Get ready for an afternoon of nature, beautiful views, outdoor activities, and Carioca lifestyle! In this RioLIVE! activity, we’ll visit Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, one of the most iconic landscapes in Rio de Janeiro and a favorite outdoor spot among locals.
Located in Rio’s South Zone, close to neighborhoods such as Ipanema, Leblon, Copacabana, and Jardim Botânico, the lagoon is surrounded by mountains and green areas, offering incredible views of some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including Christ the Redeemer. It’s the perfect place to enjoy Rio at a slower pace while practicing Portuguese outside the classroom.
Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas is one of the favorite places for Cariocas who enjoy spending time outdoors. Every day, people come here to walk, run, cycle, exercise, meet friends, or simply relax and enjoy the scenery.
During our RioLIVE!, we’ll explore the lagoon while experiencing this authentic part of everyday life in Rio. Along the way, we’ll have plenty of opportunities to practice Portuguese by talking about sports, nature, daily routines, leisure activities, and life in the city. And, of course, we’ll stop to admire the landscape and take some amazing pictures! With the mountains, green areas, and Christ the Redeemer in the background, Lagoa offers some of the most beautiful views in Rio.
