Fort and Arpoador

For our first activity with RioLIVE! for 2015 we visited the Forte do Copacabana where we took in some amazing sights of Rio and walked through the Fort’s museum. After, we headed over to the famous Pedra do Arpoador where we watched the sunset over dois irmãos. Hundreds of people gather along the beach and at Arpoador each day and applaud the sunset to celebrate the end of a day and the start of a night. An experience that is definitely not to be missed while in Rio.

Our first RioLIVE! of 2015 was a walk through the seashore of Rio de Janeiro. We started our RioLIVE! walking through the beach of Copacabana until the Fort, that is a militar base to protect Guanabara’s Bay. There, we knew a little bit about history of Rio de Janeiro at the Army’s History Museum and we talked about the Forts at Copacabana’s Beach. After that, we left the museum and we went to a place called dome, where we can have a different view of Copacabana’s beach and The Sugar Loaf.
