A night out at the Samba School was amazing! With an incredible buzz and energy, great music and fantastic dancing from the professionals and the locals – it was a fantastic way to have a taste of the famous annual samba event and practice a few newly learned samba moves.

We were sure on Saturday that Carnaval has just started in Rio de Janeiro. Our students had the opportunity to live the magic of Carioca Carnaval. The presentation of the passistas (samba dancers), porta bandeira (flag-bearer) and bateria (drums section) was sensational.
After some beers we had a real carioca night. And who said that foreigners can’t dance samba? We tried some steps in samba to the sound of the drums of Salgueiro and Mangueira.
